Mero Adventure offers guided kayak tours.  We have a kayak tour of Laguna de Playa Linda and Rio Salitreras, an ocean kayak trip to Isla Ixtapa combined with a snorkel session, and our most popular trip is to Barra de Potosí that includes a tour of the lagoon and snorkelling at Turtle Beach. The tours last between four and five hours and include guide, single or double kayak , life jacket, transportation, and refreshments.

We explore the coastal waters of Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo and visit sea caves and islands where marine birds hatch and are raised.
We also take a break at a hidden virgen beach to relax, eat and snorkel.

Excursions by Kayak

Isla Ixtapa, Laguna de Playa Linda and Rio Salitreras are located to the west of Ixtapa. The lagoon and river open to the sea on the leeward side of the island. The lagoon is a 100 % virgin area. Kayakers will be able to see wild ducks, pelicans, herons and crocadiles in their natural habitat inside the lagoon. The island offers nice beach and warm crystalline waters which are perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

How about an ocean kayak trip to Isla Ixtapa with a snorkel session on the reef? The excursion lasts 4 hours and includes guide, ocean kayak, life jacket, snorkel equipment, transportation, and refreshments.

La Laguna de Barra de Potosí y Playa Tortuga son áreas 100% virgenes areas are a 100 virgin % and they are located to the south of Zihuatanejo. By nature thhe lagoon only opens to the sea in the winter and spring. The lagoon is a manglar swamp with one of the biggest biological diversities to be found in Mexico. The incredible number of species of birds, fish, crabs, reptiles, amphibians, flowers and other flora and fauna will astound you.

Kayak & Snorkel at Barra de Potosí & Playa Tortuga

Discover the beauty of Laguna de Potosí by kayak! Kayaking is the ideal way to explore the lagoon and observe the different species of birds and other animals that have adapted to this Manglar Ecosystem. When the sandbar that separates the lagoon from the ocean is open, it is also possible to explore the rocky formations of Los Morros de Potosí just a short distance from the shoreline.

The Barra de Potosí Trip is a guided kayak tour through the manglar tunnels of of the lagoon to Playa Tortuga with 20 km of completely virgin beach where will be able to observe other of birds including tiny humming birds, herons and pelicans. Just relax awhile on the beach or enjoy a snorkel session in the calm waters. The excursion lasts 4 to 5 hours and includes guide, single or double kayak, life jacket, snorkel equipment, transportation, a meal and refreshments.

Also there is the opportunity to go fishing inside the lagoon ... just let us know before hand.

On the way back we stop in at the "enramada" restaurant " Leticia " on Playa Barra de Potosí to enjoy a selection of local seafood specialties served with handmade tortillas. And the fishermen will be able to enjoy their catch prepared to order ...
